Getting caught up

For those of you that subscribe to my blog and were bombarded with emails yesterday, I’m sorry! While I have been diligently working on Soul Journey with edits to make it the best it can be I have fallen behind on  a few things.

One of the things that I have fallen behind on is book reviews. Before I became an author I never really left reviews for books. I thought nobody cares what I thought about a book so why do I need to leave one. Now that I am an author I see how incredibly important it is for every person that reads my books to leave a review. Therefore, I make sure that I leave a review for every book that I read.

Because of this new rule of always leaving a review I sometimes fall behind and have a few to leave at one time. This time there were quite a few that I needed to write. I want to make sure that I repay my fellow authors in this way, so that means every once in a while you might get quite a few emails coming your way.

You see on Amazon they use the amount of reviews that you have to figure out how accessible your book is going to be. The more reviews you have the more exposure they will give you. You know those titles that are at the bottom of the page saying you might also like? Well those are books that have enough reviews to be included in that. If you don’t have enough reviews then they will suggest different books instead of yours.

As an author I hope that everyone that reads my books will leave a review. I personally read each one. I don’t respond to them usually because that is your opinion and I want you to be honest with me. I do have a couple that are not glowing reviews but I am happy to have them. They told me things that I needed to work on. If all I get is glowing reviews how will I ever know how to improve?

Any book that you read that you really like or even love, needs a review. Even if you think nobody cares what you thought about the book, the author cares. Every author I know checks Amazon every day to see if there is a new review for them to look at. We use the readers reviews to help us hone our craft and bring you the best versions of our books.

Until next week, keep reading and don’t forget the reviews!
